Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s father is dead. Peter Mairu died yesterday. Details of his death are scant. Kalonzo lost his mother in 2014.
Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi has condoled with the family.
“My thoughts and prayers are with you and your entire family as you walk this difficult path,” Mudavadi tweeted.
Bungoma senator Moses Wetang’ula also eulogised Mairu for his “iconic advice and relentless efforts in his quest to have a just society”.
“His bravery, steadfastness, and personal sacrifice to see this country attain greater heights will forever be etched on the minds of Kenyans who cherish democracy and cohesion,” Wetang’ula said.
Kisii governor James Ongwae said, “We stand with you [Kalonzo] at this time of mourning.”
