NTSA revokes licence of truck driver behind deadly Chepsir accident

NTSA has revoked the license of the driver who was involved in an accident that claimed eight lives at Chepsir along Kericho-Nakuru Highway on Friday permanently .

Director General Francis Meja said Abdulle Ali Mohamed who was driving the trailer that collided with a bus on Monday has been banned from possessing a driver’s license.

NTSA said after initial investigations, the report showed negligence by the driver.

He said the revocation was because by the driver is a danger to all road users and should never ever be allowed to drive any vehicle on Kenyan roads.

NTSA also summoned officials of the Green Line Bus Company whose bus was involved in an accident with a trailer killing nine passengers at Kamara area on Sunday morning.

On Monday, two students died on the spot and 10 injured after a PSV matatu rammed into a parked truck at Sobea, eight kilometres from the Salgaa notorious black spot along Eldoret-Nakuru Highway.

The matatu belonging to Western sacco was heading to Nakuru from Eldoret when the accident happened.
